5 Local Events: August 2020
As summer comes to a close and fall gets ready for its turn you may be looking for something fun to do. I have list 5 Local Events occurring in the next two weeks that may spark your interest. Most of these items allow for social distancing or require tickets to ensure a smaller crowd.
1. Road Rally South
Earlier this month the Cambria County Historical Society hosted the Road Rally North. This Wednesday starts the Road Rally South. 2. CACCC Play: The Prisoner of Second Avenue
The Community Arts Center of Cambria County is hosting a play presented by Log Art Theatre. The CACCC wanted a way to reach out and provide something fun for the community. The play will be performed out doors and viewers seats will be socially distanced. The play is called: The Prisoner of Second Avenue. Written by Neil Simon, this play should be entertaining. 3. Farmers Markets
Many communities host a Farmer’s Market. These markets are usually out doors. Visitors can make a big difference in local community members lives when they shop at a Farmer’s Market. Local farmers and artisans bring their goods to one location. Visitors can get fresh, locally grown food from farmers in their community. They can purchase local hand-crafted art and goods from artists. If you are interested in checking out a Farmer’s Market you can find them in Johnstown, Ebensburg, Indiana and a massive market in Ligonier.
4. Concert in the Park
Friday nights in Ebensburg can be entertaining. Throughout the summer Ebensburg hosts several bands in the Penn Eben park area. This Friday at 6:00 pm is Jeff Webb & the Delectable Sound. Next Friday at 6:00 pm is Ghostown Revelry. Visit the Ebensburg Borough page for more info and events.
5. Discovering the Outdoors
Part of the beauty of living in Western PA is being surrounded by state parks. Several state parks have events that visitors can attend. Some are designed for children. There are many other parks and trails that aren’t hosting events, but are still great ways to get you and your family outside and exploring the wonders of nature. 5 Local Events: In Conclusion
Hopefully this list helps inspire you to find something fun to do in our area. There are events that benefit non-profits and local community members. There are events that get you out in nature. Country Fox will be exploring several events over the next couple of weeks.
