1. Gardens at St. Francis
The Shrines and Sunken Gardens at Mount Assisi are located on what used to be the Charles M Schwab estate, Immergrun. Today’s gardens sit on 3.5 acres. There are shrines to Our Lady of Fatima and Our Lady of Loretto. There are water features including a water fountain. Read the blog about our visit here.
2. Cresson Sanitorium
The Cresson Sanitorium was opened in 1913 to help people recoup from tuberculosis. In 1956 it was incorporated into the Lawrence F. Flick State Hospital known for treating those with severe mental disorders. The facility became SCI Cresson in 1983. The doors were finally closed in 2013. If I’ve piqued your interest, please read the full post here. They currently host Ghost Tours, Self-Guided Tours and Guided History Tours. Interested in tours? Visit their Facebook page.

7. Planning
Early spring is a wonderful time to start planning summer vacations or around-the-home DIY projects. Country Fox has already started planning for their summer vacation! More on that at a later date.
Now is a great time to look around your living space and see what can be or needs to be done. This is a great time to start organizing some DIY projects. Country Fox has done some DIY projects in the past. Here are our kitchen light, dining room light, wainscoting and window installation projects. Maybe it is something as simple as planting flowers or a fresh coat of paint on a wall. Whatever your home improvement may be, now is a great time to start planning.
