Frye’s Antiques Indiana PA
Frye’s Antiques, Indiana PA: History
Frye’s Antiques in Indiana PA is a large two story building located in Indiana county. They have been in operation for over 26 years. Joe Frye, Sr had been involved with antiques for 40-plus years. Before becoming Frye’s Antiques, they were known as Denise’s Antique Mall. They are now the oldest Antique Co-op Mall in the area.
Frye’s is a 25-plus dealer Co-op. They have a wide variety of merchandise with prices to satisfy everyone. Each room is full of quality items. Shoppers can find antiques of course, but they can also find primitives, collectibles, handcrafted items, handmade pottery, glassware, furniture, fine jewelry, costume jewelry, and paintings.
Each room in the building contains neatly displayed items ranging in price and size. In the picture above you can see antiques, vintage items, furniture, toys, and paintings.
Why shop at an Antique Store?
I enjoy antique stores. Each room, shelf and wall holds the potential for a new treasured possession. Antiques carry the story of the person who used to own it. Some antiques can tell a story of the area or history of the times. When one purchases furniture, they know that it was handcrafted and built to last.
My love of history and stories is one reason I love antique stores. Another reason is the endless amount of projects one can create from antique store finds. Old silverware can be turned into jewelry, wind chimes or coat hooks. Old dinnerware can become bird feeders. Drawers that no longer have a home in a dresser or desk can find new life as organizers. I use old sewing table drawers to organize my bathroom counter items.
Old doors have become quite the sought after item. Doors can become dividers, benches, shelves or picture frames. Barn wood can become signs, walls, or shelves. Many antiques can be used as intended. I have several antique clocks, lamps, furniture, and glassware that I use.
